What hits more in this bay is the sense of relax and peace pervading the silent and calm atmosphere, in spite of the affluence of visitors. People coming in this place want (and is able) to find here a pause, a separation from the daily life and its worries, a parenthesis that allows to return heartened to their own occupations. Also the presence in the background of the Vesuvius, the only real constant of all the varied and fragmented history of the Gulf of Naples, seems to remember that there is something in our life that does not run with the obsessing rhythm of working days.
