Most clearly identifiable features are the rotunda and the loggia, both of which resemble their counterparts at Villa Jovis (Great Hall and Promenade). The rotunda of Damecuta commands a semicircular view over the Gulf of Naples which includes Ischia and Vesuvius, with its axis pointing at Cape Miseno, where had been the headquarters of the Roman fleet.

The loggia-promenade leads from the rotunda to the tower (located on the eastern side), and includes a number of stone benches into niches (exedrae) overlooking the sea. About 80 meters long, the loggia was originally roofed, with round arches on pillars and vaults, but open on the panoramic northern side. It ended with an arched balcony (now ruined) looking over the Blue Grotto and Cape Campanella.  [ More...]
